I just completed another summer working for the Center for Talented Youth at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. CTY means many things to many people, but nearly everyone agrees that it is a wonderful and unique experience. To me CTY is, among other things, a summer job, a place to leave the stresses of daily life behind, a place where I've met many of my best friends, the place where I fit in most, a place that I hope to always return, and the only place I feel comfortable duct taping myself to my party date.
Like every other year, this summer was a contender for the best summer ever. Highlights included, bicycle rides to the hawk watch, a slumber party, two staff oylmpics, a slip-and-slide, several river trips, teaching running and dominating the twin lobster tail with the best TA ever, two excellent end-of-session ragers, two CTY birthdays, and our first CTY wedding.
As I sit here working through my annual case of PCTYD, I could add to that list forever, but instead the pictures will tell the story. Or at least as much as can be told without being there to experience it.
